who you votin’ for?

Rebecca came up from Houston earlier this month to visit me in Chilly Philly. During her trip (and after I’d recovered from my Official Super Genius Annual Food Poisoning™) we visited Nocturne Nightclub where she proceeded to meet and greet people with no shyness whatsoever. I could only dream of being as extroverted. However, if you’re hanging out with an extrovert, it becomes super easy to make new friends since all of the hard ice-breaking work is done for you. That would make an interesting take on the dating game if you could somehow hire a disinterested yet social third party extrovert to generate introductions to total strangers. Right now I use a disinterested third-party named Heinekin to open up my social opportunities. It’s works cheap. Oh! That reminds me… Rebecca and a coworker of mine went clubbing one night. The last hour of the evening is a bit of a blur but I’d somehow made really nice with this girl and got a phone number. Unfortunately my RECORD button wasn’t working and I have no recollection of the event whatsoever. Stupid Heinekin! Everyone was saying that I was on my game and everything. So, sadly, I’m still The Single Guy. Don’t start calling me Jonathon Silverman.

Some of the other highlights of the Rebecca Visit™ included a trip to New York to see ”The Producers” with original castmembers Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick. AWESOME! They are going to make a movie version with Nicole Kidman in the female lead. Eula… I’m ready for you. The downside was that the weather in New York was hovering at around 0 degrees (and I don’t mean Celcius). So… very… cold. It wasn’t much better the night before she left when we hit Pat’s Cheesesteaks. Pat’s has renovated the place a little bit… removing some of the old wooden siding and putting in nice backlit signs. The scary cover has been replaced and the trademark yellow lighting outside is gone. However they have yellow lights inside the kitchen, so it’s still a part of the experience. The food was totally awesome, as usual. If I ever get into the situation where I have to have a last meal… I’m there.

I am behind on my New Year’s resolutions. I have visited the comedy club that’s near my place but I don’t have any form of an act ready for open mic night on Wednesday. I will, however. I’m thinking about doing some writing for television. I need to get focused and do it. I haven’t found the knob for focusing, yet. I think it’s inside a panel somewhere. Dammit. I never read the instruction manual.

My car is so very filthy. Dirty. Squalid. It needs a bath. I’ve had it here since September 15, 2003. It hasn’t been washed once. The problem is the inclement weather and the salt and the slush. I should just wait til’ the next wave of snow dies down and bite the bullet. Other problems are putting me out of contention for pimping in that car. I accidentally opened the convertible top up while I had a t-shirt in the little area where the top folds into. Don’t ask me what I was thinking when I put it there. I blame the crack. It totally F’ed up the super mysterious folding mechanism. I’m not in too much of a hurry to spend money to fix it as the freezing weather makes having your top down make you look like Captain Insane-O, so perhaps in the spring I will have that taken care of. Anyone want to donate Trim Shop services to the Super Genius? I can make a trade for my skillz.

Last but not least on today’s lengthy update… I made a return trip to Circuit City in Wilmington, Delaware and bought a replacement video camera, as well as this little Sony digital camera. I’ll give you a full product run-down on them on a dedicated page. No, really. I will! If you have the means, I highly recommend the Delaware. Tax free shopping. Mmmm.
