embarassed? about what?

Let me be the first to say… I’ve had no negative responses to the unflattering photos posted in my last entry. Thanks for that. I’ve got other things going on beside turning myself into Spider-Man. Let’s see. Where to start?

I’ve been meaning to rant and rave about my Windows Media Center PC for a while now. I love it. The program guide is free so I don’t have any monthly fees to pay (unlike TiVo). Windows Media Center creates DVR-MS files whenever recording a program. I use a program called TvShowExport that converts DVR-MS files to MPEG which I can then use with Roxio DVD Builder to burn onto DVD. It’s sooo easy. I’ve got a couple episodes of SNL saved as images that I can burn whenever. I’ve been meaning to burn Battlestar Galactica (the newer version) on DVD for my bro-in-law, but I’ve been dragging my feet. I have some shows set to record whenever a new episode comes on. Southpark. SNL. Star Trek: Enterprise. All the ”S” shows, basically. Simpsons. Is that weird? Okay, coming from me… I guess not.

I saw ”The Day After Tomorrow” a couple of weeks ago. Bleah. One-time see. It was marginally entertaining, but I can’t imagine sitting through it again. The only thing that’s going to come of it is that I now want to visit the library where a lot of the more excrutiatingly boring action happened. I plan to visit NY soon to see the latest installment of ”Harry Potter.” It’s just a habit I picked up back in 2001 when the first Potter arrived. I’ve been returning to the same theater in The Big Apple™ ever since. I may be doing that this Saturday. I’ll take a camera. I’m all about the camera.

Next week I’ll be attending my first Phillies baseball game. This will bring me full circle with all of the professional sports teams here. Philly residents are fond of calling the stadium where each sport is held by one name. The Linc. The Vet (bows head and takes off cap). The Bank (as the baseball park is called). I’m attending with my fellow coworkers and will make up my hours the rest of the week. Speaking of work, the web site we’ve been working on was launched. It kicks ass and I’m extremely proud of my work as both a front-end designer as well as a full blown Java developer. I’m learning Oracle SQL and more Java with each passing day and the guy I work with is more than happy to pass on knowledge. So yeah, I’m friggin’ happy, okay? It’s all good.

Speaking of all good. Madonna is all good. It looks as if I may actually see her concert twice. I’ve been trying to resell my 13th row tickets for the Monday show on eBay but I’ve received nary a bite. Some nut-job wrote me the other day asking if I would hand deliver the tickets and accept cash. Hell no. I hear that’s the worse thing you can do. They never wrote me back when I told them ”Hell no” so I guess that’s all over with and they’ve moved on to their next potential victim. I have a funny story about how I’ve been trying to eliminate my competition on ebay by reporting sellers who lie about the face value of their tickets. It’s met with moderate success, but alas I haven’t sold jack. Regardless of all that, I’m taking Queen Beth to the front-row show. Who better to take than a friend who tried to see Madge in NY back in 2001 and ended up getting shut out and seeing nothing? That’s not fair. I have this theory that I’ll go to heaven if I’m really nice to people. That’s what I hear anyway. I’m sure I flip-flop on the list from day to day. Today I honked at a little old lady who was driving too slow. See? At the moment I’m going to hell for that.
