Well, take that GMail. I got an account with them recently thanks to a fairly pricey eBay aution and found it poorly lacking in basic features. For example, their interface, while somewhat innovative with its thread-like connecting of emails, is lacking in basic functionality... like giving you a way to turn off the thread-like connecting of emails. You don't like it? Too bad. I was also upset that there was no POP or SMTP access into the account. I normally keep my email in Outlook Express. The ads on Gmail? Annoying, and yet strangely interesting at the same time as you wonder what keywords from your private personal email that they'll latch onto. Yahoo Plus -- no ads. Even free Yahoo accounts got upgraded from 4 MB to 100 MB. What about that disclaimer asterisk? It linked to a note that said that you won't be able to enjoy your new Yahoo Super Powers if you owe Yahoo money. Duh. It's only $19.95 year and well worth it. I'm now officially done raving. Holla!
