See how President Grant looks green? That's how I look right now. I bought some Wawa chicken on the way home yesterday. Wawa is a convenience store, not a type of chicken. It didn't settle well. I can't remember if I've I'd already had my yearly food poisoning incident yet? It seems early. It's funny what you think about when you're on a weight training program. ''Oh man! All that wasted protein!'' is the first thing to come to mind. Previously the popular favorite had been, ''Oh man! I hope I stop puking my brains out.'' How time does change things.
My gym stays open til 11 PM so I'm always able to sneak in a little workout before retiring for the night. I'd gotten the dog walk, eating poisoned food, and cleaning up the kitchen out of the way. My trainer Justin was there and I thought he asked me if I needed a spotter. I was all, ''No, I'm fine.'' My hearing must have been affected early on by the Death Chicken because he'd really asked me if I could spot him. Ohhhhh. I realized my mistake and did some spotting. The spotting thing. It's interesting. You're there to make sure the other person doesn't tear off a limb and/or doesn't get squished.
I bought Season 2 of The Dead Zone this past weekend when I was in Delaware. Comcast doesn't have USA Network so I'm not able to see the current season and will have to make due with the DVD. I need to make this one last. I'm thinking I can watch one episode a week since it's well over 800 minutes of content. Wonder Woman Season 1 is now out as of yesterday so that'll help get me over Dead Zone withdrawal each week. Mmmm. Lynda Carter. I like.
I'm sitting around waiting to see Spider-Man 2 with my fellow coworkers tomorrow (Thursday) night. The anticipation is killing me. It got nearly 100% positive reviews on RottenTomatoes.com. I'm thinking the people who gave it a bad review did so to draw attentions to themselves. If they truly didn't like the film, then their reasoning is obvious that they're biased against certain genre of films (e.g. ''If you're a Spider-Man freak, then...'') or that they don't like movies that feature real character development (e.g. ''The first half of the movie was just so talky that I ...''). See what I mean? I'm reserving judgement until tomorrow. Some of my friends who saw Dodgeball based on my review came back not too happy. I'm like, come on, I told you it was a dumb movie. That's the point. Did I forget to mention that I'd had two beers before the movie?
And speaking of beer! Pennsylvanians must go to the dreaded State Liquor Store in order to buy any alcohol. You can only buy beer in a case of 24 from there. So what everyone will do occasionally will be to have 6 or 8 guys each buy a case and then split the total costs -- and the cases. This way you end up with a bunch of interesting beers. I don't know what day we're doing this. Hopefully not today as I'd hate to be left out. I guess this is a perfect example of the thoughts one has when waiting for WebSphere Application Developer server to start.
The countdown to Madonna weekend is drawing closer. Did I mention I'm a member of her fan club? I get a 10% discount off anything on their store. Let me know, man, I've got the hook up. [rolls eyes] Check out her site and you'll see photos from the upcoming show. I'll see Prince in August. I'm getting my I Love The 80's™ time in.
While in Delaware I picked up another two Acomdata Rocketpod 160GB external drives. I now have five of these stacked up and only using one USB port. Even though it may seem I have 800GB of space I'm only using 400GB and using the other half for backup mirroring. I need a NAS or a SAN. I'm about to attempt to scan in The Jersey Village Video Yearbook, a few episodes of a failed 1970s television show called Quark, and another local NBC News promo that used footage of me shot in college. The promo was for a series they were doing called ''It's Tough To Be A Teen.'' I think I was 23 when I did that stuff. For some reason ''It's Tought To Be A Twenty-Three Year Old'' didn't hit viewers with the same impact.

Today's Question: ''Privately funded manned craft such as SpaceShipOne are now entering outer space. What are your thoughts on the subject?"
![]() ''Does this mean that we're going to be sending a race of cryogenically frozen super humans led by a guy named Khan into space soon?'' |
![]() ''I don't see how that kind of advancement is going to help me. Can't they work on making sports cars more pimp, instead?''
![]() ''Soooo... do they allow smoking? I mean, like, is there a hidden smoke detector in the lavoratory?'' |
![]() ''Trips into outer space? Yeah, right. What's next? Fuel-efficient electric hybrid cars?''
![]() ''Those space shuttle NASA guys are gonna be so pissed off! Isn't leaving earth's orbit illegal?'' |

I haven't been able to access mail.yahoo.com all weekend. I guess their big idea about giving away so much space is backfiring. I'm still able to suck down the email through Outlook Express, but anyone using free Yahoo, versus Yahoo Plus which costs $19.95/yr, is s*** out of luck since you can't access a pop account. I have two GMail invites, however, so if you want to get yourself an account, email me at supergenius at gmail point com. Yeah, that's a new address. I'm shutting down my old mark at email point net address thanks to the fine producers of email spam. It's been funny watching them desperately try new variations to get through the filters. Looks like this weekend's variation is tooooo leeeengthen woooooords liiiiiike thiiiiiis annnnnnd theeeeee fillllllters seeeeeeem tooooo leeeeet theeeeeese messsssssages geeeeeeeet throuuuuuugh. On Thursday I saw my first Phillies baseball game at the new stadium. I was only able to work two hours before leaving so I've got to make up the gap. It was worth it, though! We were even in the nosebleeds but I still had a great time. I bought a Phillies baseball hat to compliment half of my I'm A Philly Resident Disguise. The other half of my disguise is just me walking past people and saying, ''How you doin'?''
On Friday I saw ''Dodgeball'' at the Norristown Regal Cinema 10. It wasn't stadium seating, but then again it looked like it was built in the early 90's. Are we spoiled now with the stadium seating? Hollywood Movie premieres are never in stadium seating theaters, so I guess going back to an Old School theater isn't out of the question. The movie was hilarious, by the way. Good stupid fun. They do at least one joke every 30 seconds so there's plenty of attempts to keep your attention. See it. I had a couple of beers with a coworker before I went in to see the movie and it helped me get through the dumber jokes. Good to know.
Saturday morning I crawled out of bed, dressed, hopped in my car and drove to the vet. I'm feeding Chew this special dog food for urinary tract care. He was having some problems with crystals flaring things up earlier this year so we made the switch and his problems are solved. The only downside is the food is a bit pricier and I can only get it from the vet. I also picked up some Interceptor. You put this on the back of your pet's neck and all bugs on your pet run away like little girls for up to three months. I ran home with my goods and exchange them for the dog himself. We drove to Petsmart and he got The Top Dog from New Jersey hottie Priscilla. In turn I drove to the Cherry Hill Lowes and saw ''Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.'' It was good. Anything with time travel in it and a good story is good. Still, the movie clocked in at 2 hours and 30 minutes. I always seem to find myself getting bored after the second hour goes by. I never had this problem with the Lord of the Rings films. I'm assuming this isn't because I'm becoming grumpy.
Saturday Night I walked several blocks to a pool hall. My legs workout earlier in the day made walking difficult, but that's a good thing. After being threatened to get set up with a cute nerdy girl playing pool at an adjacent table, we moved on to a latin club called Cuba Libre. If you visit my Real World Philly fan site TheRealWorldPhilly.com there's a message that details the place. I had fun, but their bartender definitely made one of the worst Dirty Martinis I'd had in a long time. After 2 A.M. I cabbed to Silk City for bacon, eggs and coffee before heading back home. Super Genius: 1. Coffee: 0.
My dog Chew woke me up Sunday morning. He never really does that. I think he enjoyed being Super Clean Dog and wanted to spend some time with me. I forgot to mention that Saturday night I also vacuumed up the apartment and changed out his blanket with a fresh one. I'm getting prepared to straighten things up as Queen Beth's arrival is drawing closer and I'd like to make my Studio Apartment look less like some place a consultant is living in on a temporary basis (even though my lease goes through June 2005). Anyway, I took Chew to the park and let him go sniffing crazy for 20 minutes while I ate my whitefish on wheat sandwich with a bag of pork cracklins and a diet Vanilla Coke. Pork cracklins are apparenly East Coast lingo for pork rinds. Chew came back to the apartment and crashed on his bed. He's got it rough.
To wind things up these late evening I'm importing some more of my CD collection into my iPod, slowy but surely. It already imported every MP3 it could find on my harddrive when I first installed it. That made me realize that my MP3 collection was lame. My CD collection isn't that far behind, but definitely a vast improvement. At the moment I have 2,067 songs taking up 7.38 GB. It says it'd take 5.6 days to listen to all that. Like that's gonna happen.
2 gig?!

I just logged into Yahoo a few seconds ago and was SHOCKED by what I just read. Here it is:Welcome to the new and improved Yahoo! Mail Plus.Well, take that GMail. I got an account with them recently thanks to a fairly pricey eBay aution and found it poorly lacking in basic features. For example, their interface, while somewhat innovative with its thread-like connecting of emails, is lacking in basic functionality... like giving you a way to turn off the thread-like connecting of emails. You don't like it? Too bad. I was also upset that there was no POP or SMTP access into the account. I normally keep my email in Outlook Express. The ads on Gmail? Annoying, and yet strangely interesting at the same time as you wonder what keywords from your private personal email that they'll latch onto. Yahoo Plus -- no ads. Even free Yahoo accounts got upgraded from 4 MB to 100 MB. What about that disclaimer asterisk? It linked to a note that said that you won't be able to enjoy your new Yahoo Super Powers if you owe Yahoo money. Duh. It's only $19.95 year and well worth it. I'm now officially done raving. Holla!
Thanks for being a loyal Yahoo! Mail user. We've made some great changes to Mail Plus, effective immediately! You'll have all the features of your current Yahoo! Mail Plus account, and many more – at no additional cost*!
Here's even more to love about Yahoo! Mail Plus: No graphical ads, When you're using the Mail web interface, your experience will be even more enjoyable, Streamlined interface, Makes using your mail even easier, Virtually unlimited storage.
A whopping 2GB means you should never have to worry about managing storage again! Keep thousands of messages, photos, and documents – think of it as your online archive.
So thanks again for choosing Yahoo! Mail Plus to keep in touch, and we hope you enjoy the additional services now at your fingertips. For more information, please visit our Help page.

Avert your eyes if you weren't expecting to see some dude in his underwear showing off. Funny thing... I noticed in one of my earlier photos that I must have taken the photo early in the morning. How did I know it was morning? Let's just say I had to use the ''erase'' tool in PhotoShop and leave it at that. This is the last photo I'm going to take with my crappy little Sony point and shoot. Tell you what... let me post my review of ''The Stepford Wives'' in my next paragraph and that'll give everyone plenty of time to get averting.I saw ''Stepford'' on Friday night with a couple of coworkers and two other friends, hereto (''HOTTIES''). We ended up having to get reserved seating as the theater was fairly well packed by the time we arrived. This was at the Cherry Hill Loews in Cherry Hill, N.J. You know the one. The popcorn and diet Coke was good. The movie, however, was bland. It felt gappish. Clipped. Cut back. You can tell that it must have been overtweaked at some point. I only heard that there was trouble on the set and lots of delays now that the movie is out. During production I thought everyone loved everyone else. Apparently not. The ending was a little twistish, but I was still left unimpressed. I'd give it a 3 out of 5. I may watch it again if they provide deleted scenes and some commentary. Maybe even some alternate endings. Nicole Kidman, however, I'd... I'd pop my pinky finger back off the bone for that woman. Wow. Matthew Broderick is super cool, as always. He can't make a bad film. Oh wait. I remember one called ''Project-X'' that sucked. He can make one bad film. He's Ferris Bueller, after all.
Progress... slow, but sure.

embarassed? about what?
2004.06.10 23.20
Let me be the first to say... I've had no negative responses to the unflattering photos posted in my last entry. Thanks for that. I've got other things going on beside turning myself into Spider-Man. Let's see. Where to start?I've been meaning to rant and rave about my Windows Media Center PC for a while now. I love it. The program guide is free so I don't have any monthly fees to pay (unlike TiVo). Windows Media Center creates DVR-MS files whenever recording a program. I use a program called TvShowExport that converts DVR-MS files to MPEG which I can then use with Roxio DVD Builder to burn onto DVD. It's sooo easy. I've got a couple episodes of SNL saved as images that I can burn whenever. I've been meaning to burn Battlestar Galactica (the newer version) on DVD for my bro-in-law, but I've been dragging my feet. I have some shows set to record whenever a new episode comes on. Southpark. SNL. Star Trek: Enterprise. All the ''S'' shows, basically. Simpsons. Is that weird? Okay, coming from me... I guess not.
I saw ''The Day After Tomorrow'' a couple of weeks ago. Bleah. One-time see. It was marginally entertaining, but I can't imagine sitting through it again. The only thing that's going to come of it is that I now want to visit the library where a lot of the more excrutiatingly boring action happened. I plan to visit NY soon to see the latest installment of ''Harry Potter.'' It's just a habit I picked up back in 2001 when the first Potter arrived. I've been returning to the same theater in The Big Apple™ ever since. I may be doing that this Saturday. I'll take a camera. I'm all about the camera.
Next week I'll be attending my first Phillies baseball game. This will bring me full circle with all of the professional sports teams here. Philly residents are fond of calling the stadium where each sport is held by one name. The Linc. The Vet (bows head and takes off cap). The Bank (as the baseball park is called). I'm attending with my fellow coworkers and will make up my hours the rest of the week. Speaking of work, the web site we've been working on was launched. It kicks ass and I'm extremely proud of my work as both a front-end designer as well as a full blown Java developer. I'm learning Oracle SQL and more Java with each passing day and the guy I work with is more than happy to pass on knowledge. So yeah, I'm friggin' happy, okay? It's all good.
Speaking of all good. Madonna is all good. It looks as if I may actually see her concert twice. I've been trying to resell my 13th row tickets for the Monday show on eBay but I've received nary a bite. Some nut-job wrote me the other day asking if I would hand deliver the tickets and accept cash. Hell no. I hear that's the worse thing you can do. They never wrote me back when I told them ''Hell no'' so I guess that's all over with and they've moved on to their next potential victim. I have a funny story about how I've been trying to eliminate my competition on ebay by reporting sellers who lie about the face value of their tickets. It's met with moderate success, but alas I haven't sold jack. Regardless of all that, I'm taking Queen Beth to the front-row show. Who better to take than a friend who tried to see Madge in NY back in 2001 and ended up getting shut out and seeing nothing? That's not fair. I have this theory that I'll go to heaven if I'm really nice to people. That's what I hear anyway. I'm sure I flip-flop on the list from day to day. Today I honked at a little old lady who was driving too slow. See? At the moment I'm going to hell for that.
for every beginning...

I just got back from an excrutiating leg workout. When my trainer gets me to where I wonder if I can walk again... that's a good workout. I have no idea why I like this kind of punishment now. The benefits of being able to wear a t-shirt and not look like a little scrawny girl certainly help. Not that I'm not in the market for scrawny girls. Please, scrawny girls, feel free to contact me. Now that that's out of the way, let me take you on a little PG-rated journey into what's led up to this thus far. Back in early May 2003 I was pretty upset with my weight and bad eating habits. I decided to switch to high protein, low carb, non-fat foods. It worked. I started when I weighed 185 and after ninety days I'd dropped down to 155. A month later I leveled off at to 150 which I'd maintained until the middle of April when I started working out (for the first time ever). Here are the never before seen progression photos for that first initial weight loss period last year:
